THE rapid growth of wireless communications for broadband wireless personal area networks (WPANs), has sparked interest in the exploitation of millimeter-wave (mm-wave) bands using silicon RF integrated circuits . Other potential applications in the mm-wave frequency range are: automotive long-range (77/79 GHz) radars for collision avoidance, security (e.g., radio imaging at 94 GHz) and extreme wideband communication in the 120 GHz band.
