5G is the fifth-generation technology standard for broadband cellular networks, which cellular phone companies began deploying worldwide in 2019, and is the planned successor to the 4G networks which provide connectivity to most current cellphones. 5G is designed to do a variety of things that can transform our lives, including giving us faster download speeds, low latency, and more capacity and connectivity for billions of devices especially in the areas of virtual reality (VR), the IoT, and artificial intelligence (AI). 5G is the fifth generation of cellular networks, and it is expected to be one of the fastest wireless technologies ever created.
