MEMS SENSOR IEEE PAPER 2022


MEMS is a chip-based technology, known as a Micro Electro-Mechanical System. Sensors are composed of a suspended mass between a pair of capacitive plates. When tilt is applied to the sensor, the suspended mass creates a difference in electric potential. The difference is measured as a change in capacitance. MEMS pressure sensors are used in hospitals and ambulances as monitors of a patient's vital signs, specifically the patient's blood pressure and respiration. The MEMS pressure sensors in respiratory monitoring are used in ventilators to monitor the patient's breathing. Micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS) is a process technology used to create tiny integrated devices or systems that combine mechanical and electrical components. They are fabricated using integrated circuit (IC) batch processing techniques and can range in size from a few micrometers to millimetres.
